Ideas Come to Life with Quirky & Objet

From Objet Geometries, Inc.

Quirky is a social product development company that develops two brand new consumer products a week. For centuries, bringing a product to life has been really really hard. You need access to capital, you need to know the right people- be multidisciplinary between design, engineering, manufacturing, retail, etc... There are so many things standing in the way of average people executing on way above average ideas. Our mission is to make invention accessible to all. Each week users submit product ideas and two of these products are selected by the community and Quirky's staff members to go through the development process. Our expert team of industrial designers and mechanical engineers work with the community through all phases of development from concept through to final prototype. We rely heavily on our Objet Connex 350 printer in the final stages of our product's development. This technology enables us to rapidly iterate prototypes in a way that would not be possible otherwise. Our printer is essential to what happens here at Quirky every day. It provides us the agility and speed to introduce two new product to the world on a weekly basis.

Use Design-Integrated Analysis to make critical performance-based decisions…faster!

From Dassault Systemes of America Corp.

Under today’s increasing pressure to deliver better products faster, there is a growing need to perform simulation as early as possible in the design process. With CATIA integrated Analysis products, finite element technology is made available within the CATIA environment, allowing designers and engineers to efficiently incorporate accurate stress and thermal analysis into the design process. In this webinar, we will show how standard Automotive simulations can be easily performed by designers and thereby reduce the number of iterations with CAE experts.

Can’t Touch This: Inspecting to CAD using Non-Contact Technology

From FARO Technologies Inc.

Many different manufactured parts benefit from CAD-based inspection. But what if you can’t physically touch the part you need to inspect? And what if it has complex or free-form shapes? That’s where non-contact technology comes in. This webinar will explore this unique technology and how it can be used to obtain precise inspection data on these types of parts. You’ll see a live demonstration on how to perform a CAD-to-part alignment and how to compare the data you receive with the original CAD model. You’ll also see the benefits of reporting along with real-world examples of the technology in action.

Reverse Engineering Basics

From FARO Technologies Inc.

Popularity of and the necessity for reverse engineering has increased as the process has become a viable method of creating a 3D model of an existing physical part. Reverse engineering can be used for several applications including lost or absence of design documentation, updating or creating “as-built” documentation, or part analysis. In this webinar you will learn how to use a portable CMM to recreate a 3D model of an existing part, using both contact and non-contact technology.

Radio Flyer - Bringing Joy to Every Boy and Girl with the Help of 3D Printing

From Objet Geometries, Inc.

Almost everyone owned a bright red Radio Flyer wagon as a kid and we can all remember the playful times made possible by Radio Flyer’s mission of “bring joy to every boy and every girl.” Today Radio Flyer touches the hearts of children worldwide with even greater choices of wagon, scooters. Trikes and Ride-ons designed with new technologies like 3D Printing. Tom Schlegel Vice President of Product Development for Radio Flyer will discuss how his team leverages rapid prototyping to bring better products to market faster. Tom will also discuss the benefits Radio Flyer experienced by bringing the technology in house versus outsourcing for 3D models. Tom will be joined by Neil Ranney, Manager of Products and Applications from Objet who will detail some of the application uses and techniques commonly used by product development teams utilizing 3D printer technology.
