Fast, Accurate Laser Machining

The MetaBEAM CO_² laser machining center from Coherent, Inc. features a 400-W laser capable of producing 1,000 W of peak power. It operates at speeds up to 2,000 ipm and maintains 0.001-in. accuracy and 0.0002-in. repeatability across a 48 x 48 x 12-in (X, Y, Z) working range. The machine frame, computer numerical control (CNC) controller, laser, beam-delivery system, drive system, and cutting head are integrated into a compact 4 x 4-ft footprint. Additional features include a cutting table designed to minimize part tip-up and a magnetic breakaway system to protect the machine’s cutting head. The machining center is designed for materials ranging from metal to rubber and applications ranging from prototyping to high-volume manufacturing.
