As the new issue of Time Compression looks at some developments in gaming, it is interesting to note that according to Gartner, Inc., worldwide spending on gaming—hardware, software, on-line—will be over $74-billion this year, up 10.4% from 2010.

What’s more, Gartner goes on to estimate that by 2015, the spending will be in excess of $112-billion.

Said Fabrizio Biscotti, “This large market size means that many consumers embrace gaming as a core piece of their entertainment budget and will continue to play as long as game publishers deliver compelling and fun games.”

Which is certainly good for the software suppliers that support gaming development.
