The AMP 3D imaging system from FARO Technologies (faro.com) is capable of collecting millions of points in seconds and achieving high accuracy through Accordion Fringe Interferometry (AFI) technology.

The AMP 3D imaging system from FARO Technologies (faro.com) is capable of collecting millions of points in seconds and achieving high accuracy through Accordion Fringe Interferometry (AFI) technology. AFI uses lasers to generate infinitely focused fringe patterns that are projected on the part. The fringes are then captured with AMP’s high-resolution camera to create an accurate point cloud. The AMP can measure a large surface area—complex shapes or a smooth surface—in one shot. Applications include quality control, reverse engineering and rapid manufacturing applications.
