exaCT® workstation developed by Wenzel Volumetrik
CT scanning (computed tomography) isn’t limited to just doctors examining body parts. In fact, Xspect Solutions, a subsidiary of Wenzel GmbH of Germany (wenzel-cmm.com), has introduced a 3D CT workstation that performs contactless measurement of internal and external part surfaces for small to medium-sized plastic, composite, ceramic, aluminum, or magnesium parts.
The Wenzel exaCT workstation can measure pars with any surface, shape, color, or composition—even high-density materials—as long as it is penetrable with an X-ray. The workstation includes a CT scanning machine with high-quality image detectors, two monitors, processor and software for projection acquisition, as well as the reconstruction software for the evaluation of the generated 3D voxel data. The data can also be metrologically evaluated by Wenzel-Metromec Quartis measuring software, and Wenzel-Knotenpunkt Pointmaster software can be used for the reverse engineering of parts and comparing with original CAD models.
