FASTER: Casio EX-F1

Casio’s EX-F1 digital has the ability to burst shoot up to 60 frames per second. It offers a 6-million pixel image rate and high-speed flash with 12X optical zoom. The built-in buffer memory available in the prerecord mode is designed to capture up to 60 frames (limited to six meagixpels each) even before the shutter is depressed.

Some of the tech making this possible is a Sony designed and built 1/1.8-in. format high-speed complementary metal oxide semiconductor and LSI imaging processor, with an external rapid flash rate of up to 7 frames per second. Beyond still life, the EX-F1 can handle high-speed movie recording of up to 1,200 frames per second, which is actually faster than the 25-30 frame per second image processing rate of the human eye.
