Faster: Flying the Flag
Fire trucks generally drive fast. And often, they like to fly the Stars and Stripes proudly—and prominently. But they would run into a snag because it seems that flag pole manufacturers never took into account poles that would be mounted anywhere but in solid ground.
Fire trucks generally drive fast. And often, they like to fly the Stars and Stripes proudly—and prominently. But they would run into a snag because it seems that flag pole manufacturers never took into account poles that would be mounted anywhere but in solid ground. So RealWheels Corp. (RWC; www.realwheels.com), which is an extremely serious vehicle modifying and accessory firm, took on the challenge and came up with a system that can handle flags from two- to four-feet high on its one-inch diameter flag pole that’s mounted in a universal mounting socket receiver and 360° rotation system, all fabricated with heavy-gauge 304 stainless steel. “We’ve tested the Liberty System extensively at speeds over 80 mph,” said Jhan Dolphin, RWC vp.
