High-speed Circuit Board Milling

ProtoMat S43 circuit board prototyping milling machines from LPKF Laser & Electroics.

The ProtoMat S43 is the entry-level system in LPKF Laser & Electronics’ (lpkfusa.com) S-series family of circuit board prototyping milling machines. It features a 40,000-rpm spindle for drilling, de-paneling, structuring printed circuit boards (PCBs), and engraving front panels. It operates across a 9 x 12-in. work space. There are two other systems in the ProtoMat line, the S63 (60,000-rpm spindle, 15-position tool changer) and the S103 (100,000-rpm spindle for milling finer features). Each of the systems is designed so that with upgrade kits, existing S43 systems can be turned into the S63 or S103.
