Schneider Electric’s (schneider-electric.us) Cassia Energy Management System (EMS) uses room automation and energy monitoring software to produce 25 to 44% energy savings in the areas of heating, cooling and lighting for hotels, office buildings and other large multi-room facilities. It utilizes wireless technology to communicate with battery-powered thermostats, lighting controls and sensors. Here’s how it works: Occupants can control their temperature and light settings within the room. However, when the room is vacated, wireless sensors restore settings to its original pre-sets, turning off lights and resetting the thermometer to eliminate unnecessary energy usage. The Cassia EMS also detects occupancy upon re-entrance and restores the preferred settings.
