Partnership Moves AFP Machines into the Fast Lane

VISTAGY , a composites software developer, and CGTech , a producer of computer aided manufacturing (CAM) simulation software have formed a strategic partnership. VISTAGY’s FiberSIM^® and CGTech’s VERICUT Composite Programming and Simulation Suite (VCP) are being combined to facilitate the incorporation of automated fiber placement (AFP) machines into rapid design and manufacturing. It will help designers account for AFP manufacturing requirements earlier in the design process and make it easier to transfer the design information from FiberSIM to VCP software in order to generate the manufacturing data for the AFP machine and verify the manufacturing process.
