Express Pattern Inc. has acquired Objet’s; Rehovot,Israel) PolyJet Matrix™ technology and Connex500™ 3D Printing system. The service provider is now able to create simulated over-molded parts, moveable assemblies, biomedical and translucent models, and living hinges. Savings in terms of printing, post-processing time, and materials replacement are said to be dramatic. The Connex500 is the first 3D printing system that can jet multiple model materials simultaneously, enabling parts to be made of multiple materials with unique mechanical or physical properties. The materials can actually be combined to make 21 types of composites, permitting users to print parts with specific Shore A values to match that of the intended production materials. This brings the prototypes much closer to production quality at an early stage.
