The Right CFD Solutions for Today AND Tommorrow

Manufacturing companies today face many challenges, ranging from increased product complexity to tightened quality requirements to yield and productivity indicators. Engineers are charged with designing products that operate under extreme conditions with unexpected performance demands.

Complexity comes in many forms, including demands related to depth of physics models (turbulence, chemistry, particulate, real-fluid properties), breadth of physics (structural mechanics, fluid dynamics) and coupling (such as flow-induced vibration). Complexity is even greater when simulation involves transient analysis of moving parts (including impellers, valves, pistons). Further complicating the product development process is the demand for a more-environmentally friendly solution, which requires optimized design performance.

As product complexity increases, CFD must rise to meet growing demands for depth and breadth of product capabilities.

ANSYS offers a complete suite of advanced CFD modeling capabilities, including:

  • Advanced turbulence models (such as zonal and transitional)
  • Great variety of models for reacting and combusting flow (including surface and porous media reactions and discrete ordinates radiation model supporting entirely specular walls)
  • Advanced models for multiphase (free surface, boiling, cavitations, wet steam, slurries), real gas, noise, solidification and melting

Solvers in the ANSYS suite handle all types of meshes and provide moving/deforming mesh capabilities, advanced multi-grid methods, and solution-based, adaptive remeshing functionality. The wide range of solvers results in accurate results regardless of flow regime: hypersonic to creeping flow, Newtonian to non-Newtonian. ANSYS solvers offer the best-available parallel scalability for the fastest time to solution, whether the analysis incorporated thousands or billions of cells, one CPU or thousands of CPUs.

For CFD capabilities, companies around the world trust ANSYS for their evolving simulation needs.
